“Isamu awoke from an afternoon nap, it was the beginning of summer. Water trickled over stones into a pond where dragonflies kissed the surface with their tales. ‘Where was I?’ he asked his mother. She leant down and he saw her freckles nestled in the ‘v’ of her kimono, it was as though the kimono was the sides of the mountains and her chest the sky full of birds.”

Zea Thynne was born in New Zealand. She travelled with her research and film projects before settling down in Sweden. She is currently working on a novel about survival and a TV series following a group of friends in freefall.
