Kristen is a science fiction writer whose first short story, Fondelac, was published in 2020 in
the ‘And Lately, the Sun’ anthology. Kristen’s writing usually explores strange new worlds
or distant futures, sometimes has a horror or climate fiction flavour to it, and often uses
settings that build from experience growing up on the Canadian prairies.

Kristen’s debut novel, “No One to Hold the Distant Dead,” was published in 2025 and is available for purchase on many major online retailers. In 2026, the book was Long Listed for the British Science Fiction Awards.
